Your union received a record number of nominations last fall for our annual scholarship – choosing just two was a real challenge, as they were all deserving in some way. Still …
Our first winner is Jennifer El-Hajali, a Business Office Technology student who was submitted by Mercedes Strong. Jennifer is a re-entry student who has, as quoted by Professor Strong, “displayed maturity, excellence and respect. Her work in an online class consistently reflects a level of insightfulness and professionalism, being an example for this generation.”
Our next winner is Randy Perez, a Kinesiology, Health and Nutrition student who was submitted by Melissa Conrey. Randy sounds like one of those students we’d all love to have in our classes. Prof. Conrey tells us that, “Randy’s determination to work hard at meeting his goals contributed significantly to his success in my class. Even though he is an English language learner, Randy consistently received excellent scores on all of his assignments.” Randy began his time at the CLC and now he is on a path to a degree!
A portion of your local dues goes to fund these scholarships!
